Kevin Dooley, novelist and heritage activist has published four books and has assisted in the published history of the Rideau Canal Workers. He is active in the Canal Workers Commemorative Group (CWCG) and other heritage projects.
Kevin writes his entire novels by hand, and then engages a copy typist.
Kevin is a traditional Irish musician on flute and tin whistle and a singer in the old traditional style. He was born in Ireland and since he left there, has long been active in Irish cultural communities in the Diaspora.
He is a former machinist/marine engineer who has lived and worked in Ireland, the UK, Australia and South Africa before coming to Canada in 1977. A workplace head injury ended his career. He found his vocation in his writings and heritage work and is married with four children and three grandchildren.
